Corner river home is situated on a quiet corner in Noosaville Riverside precinct
The area was first developed in the 1960s and 1970s and there is still some memory of homes from that era even though most have been replaced by unit developments
The main driver for the aesthetic‘s here was to pay homage to the history of the early days with a twist towards a more contemporary program and form.
The accoya pine cladding refers to the lightweight timber history and in contrast is left to silver off.
The thicker timber frame scale pushes past the normal 90 mm stud wall generated form and gives a more robust 3-D sculptural form.
While the main roof is a gable pitch it eliminates the typical gutter fascia details to again play on sculpture to take it beyond the predictable.
The idea is that if we can reimagine ideas from different eras we may produce something which does not date easily while at the same time blending in and adding positively to the streetscape.
