Designing a home for close friends gives you a big head start.

When we began the three children were young and life was busy so the big idea was to create two level living.

The upper level has all the bedrooms as well as a living and kitchenette area.

This was to be the ‘Morning Routine’ level.

While the kids are getting ready for school, sport, play then breakfast and conversation was all harnessed into a one level apartment way of living for timesaving and ease.

The lower level is the entertaining gallery part of the home with separate media room and kitchen surrounded by a lap pool which breaks up the different functions of the home.

Alfresco eating with family and friends has been enjoyed in abundance off the kitchen area.

The form is deliberately varied - from the heavy masonry front facade designed to ‘block’ out the road to the more open glass picture framed rear to take in the sand dunes and big ocean that is only metres away.
